Yak Reste / Yak Leftovers

Usually my boyfriend doesn't care too much about my knitting but when I finished my Yakke he couldn't stop commenting on the wonderful yarn. After the tenth time or so I asked him if he wanted me to knit something for him out of the same yarn and the idea for this vest was born.

It is nothing special, just plain stockinette and 1x1 ribbing with a tubular cast off.

Last weekend I finished my first sewing project with my new Berina which still has to be washed and ironed. It is not perfect but wearable and will hopefully be captured on my camera within the next few days.

Toll gemacht!

Beautiful!

How much yarn did it take? Yesterday I bought some alpaca yarn directly from an alpaca farmer and am now searching for the perfect thing to knit with it...

(PS I think you should just make up your own word for tubular cast off.)

Danke für Eure Kommentare. Ich habe mich sehr darüber gefreut.

Hi Jen, thanks for your comment. I used a bit more than one cone of the yarn, ca. 170 gramm and 900 meters. I wish we had more sheep or alpaca farmers here, who sell their yarn directly. I would like to know where my wool comes from.

Liebe Ljolja,
